"Colleen? Can I take some cough medicine?"
(Aunt Mable's cough has developed into pneumonia. We're keeping an eye on her, I promise)
"I'm sure you can, Aunt Mable. Do you have some?"
"Yes," she says, "but it says it expires in 1987. Is that OK to take?"
"Um, no. And hand it to me right now."
:-) We hooked her up.

Poor A.M. I hope that she recovers before the cruise. As they say in the south, God Bless her heart... thankfully you had the presence of mind to ask about the expiration date.
