I am ungraceful, proven recently by the fact that I managed to fall UP the stairs. (You know you've done it, too, so don't laugh too much)
Anyway, I was 'skipping' upstairs after dinner on Tuesday night, carrying the dishes that had been cleaned from the night before, and KA-POW! It all goes a-flying. Needless to say, a few explicatives snuck out of my normally fresh mouth, and I proclaimed that I was injury free.
Not quite. After a consultation with Dr. Chip on Wednesday morning, I was diagnosed with a pulled or strained trapezius muscle. "Like, traPEZE? Like a circus accident?" I asked jokingly. Since my life can sometimes be circus-like, that made perfect sense to me! The pain started down near the inside of my shoulder blade and ran all the way up behind my left ear. This is no good for laughing, coughing, carrying heavy loads, driving, or laying on the couch watching Celebrity Rehab or Hell's Kitchen.
For 2 days I couldn't turn my head to the left, at all. Chip did offer to give me a massage (WHAT? NO!) but after 30 seconds of him jamming his steel-like fingers into my already aching injury, I ran screaming from the room, begging him to stop trying to help.
Today is Friday, and I am feeling much better. I can now turn my head and only wince a little. I have a feeling that I'll have some additional heat therapy in store for me this weekend. If it gets exciting, I'll let cha know.
