Last night we watched the final Presidential debate on TV. As with every aspect of our lives, Chip and I are at the opposite ends of the world. He's a fan of the McCain team, I lean towards Obama. Not that I don't see some great qualities in John McCain, or some areas of question for Barak Obama, I just lean to the left. A smidge.
We even had a nice chat/debate/argument about a local news story that involved a group of school children going to watch the same-sex marriage of one of their teachers. It IS historic, it IS done in love... who gets hurt here? So, you don't want your children to go? Don't let 'em! Is it THAT damaging to think that two people who love each other want to share their lives? URGH. Let LOVE win, will ya?
Anyway, we are opposites in just about everything, so I expect all of this.
The economy scares the bajesus out of me. Life here on our little island is getting scary. Businesses are closing, homes are falling into foreclosure, and this is the 1st month that MY business is hurting. That, of course, means I have a headache, and I still have a week to go until this deadline is behind me.
I just thought I'd say it again, I am no fan of being a grown-up. Yes, I can drink. Yes I can vote and drive. Yes, I can do all kinds of naughty things and be accountable to only myself (and my family). I feel like everything is just way harder than it has to be. My eyesight is failing, my body is aging, my checkbook is hungry, and I still hate peas. But, apparently, I have some money in my future if I take the advice offered in this ad.
Which I will not, but it's still funny.

The male in the house is always right - just agree with whatever he says and you can't go wrong. It also makes for a good marriage.
Whatever - it doesn't work that way in my family.
Hang tough. This is a brutal market but you are a great communicator and I am sure you will come out on top. No pun intended...
