Last week, a 17 year old Colington (the community just South of us)teenager was fatally shot in the head as his older brother was preparing to clean a 9-mm semi-automatic handgun.
“He was in the process of removing the magazine and there was a round in the chamber, and at some point the trigger was pulled.” The boy died while being flown to a hospital in Norfolk by helicopter.
I'm not a fan of getting into debates about religion or politics. People feel and believe what they choose. I, however, do not think that guns have a place in households. Use them for hunting? Keep them locked-up somewhere... with the ammo some place else. And, why on EARTH does someone need to have a semi-automatic weapon???
What a tragic waste.
