"Home is the nicest word there is." ~ Laura I. Wilder
Good Lord, I just quoted Laura from Little House on the Prairie.
I love my home. I feel safe in my home. I am comfortable in my home, like I am comfortable in my skin... sometimes there's not enough room in there, but it won't kill me.
One of my favorite things to do is sit on my back deck. We're up on the 3rd floor, near the top of the trees, and our view overlooks the Wright Memorial and the National Park Service. It's WIDE open and private. We sit in our chairs and enjoy all kinds of things- sunsets, big birds like Canadian Geese and small Cardinals and Finches, and a nice breeze. On Sunday, we enjoyed this...
It's a lousy picture because it was getting dark, but they were all cuddled-up, right outside our fence line. I think they are siblings because the smaller one was not that much smaller than the other, once they stood up.
Chip and I checked on them every few hours because he was worried that they might be sick. ("OK, if they ARE sick, what are WE going to do about it?!") They were fine though. They stayed in the same area all night, and were still there when we were having breakfast the next day.
Anyway, I thought I'd share them with you. Be safe & travel with friends.
XOXO ~ Col
