What the... we are NOT Cougars!

Tonight I went to dinner with some friends. It seems a tad bit insulting to call them that- I'd prefer to call them sisters. It's a better representation of our relationship.

We've been friends since Jr. High School or longer. I'm on the left end, then Laurie, Carol, Sue, Sheryl, Barbara Anne and Doreen. Why does my ass look so weird? Hmmm..

Anyway, we met at 7:00pm at Osteria Dante in Red Bank, the new hub of Middletown, and ate lots of delicious food. I had scallops wrapped in Serranno ham as an appetizer, and Paella for dinner. Carol had roasted duck with figs -- C'MON! I SO love that she ordered that!

The greatest thing about my friends is the fact that no matter how much time or space is between us, we always pick up where we left off.

After dinner we went to a bar called "Red." It was mostly black, but that's besides the point. Yes, the bar is in RED Bank, but that seems so uncreative. Here is Carol, modeling the New Year's Eve menu. It is not the regular menu, but the New Year's Eve menu. Do not confuse the two.

We laughed about all the usual things, compared notes, consoled, counseled, and mocked the really young, crazy skinny girls that walked by with their skin-tight pants and boob-bearing tops.

We noted that "back in our day" guys didn't go to the bars wearing blazers and hair product.

We laughed and wondered where our red hats were. At some point, someone mentioned that we probably looked like cougars. We laughed and laughed, but I want to know, how old do you have to be to be a cougar?? For God's sake! Am I there?? EEK and Oh, hell, and good grief.

I took a total of 36 pictures in Red that was black. These are the only worthy shots :-( Even thought I chopped off Laurie and Carol's heads, this is a good picture of Susanne. I just love her, my should-be Supermodel friend.

Anyway, I had a great time caching up with the girls and having Barbara Anne show up was a nice treat.

I am so sad that my trip home is almost over.

I enjoyed seeing everyone tremendously and the dinner was amazing!!! I just don't understand why I look like a House in every picture I take. Perhaps I should call Jenny!
