OBX Eats: Beachside Bistro

Welcome back to OBX Eats!

I love a good comeback story, so I’d like to introduce you to the all-new Beachside Bistro.

According to their website, “The Beachside Bistro at the Sea Ranch Resort offers a creative, moderately priced menu with a focus on American Coastal Cuisine. Spectacular ocean views can be enjoyed while dining in or outside on our oceanfront deck. Proud to be a participant of the Outer Banks Catch, the menu also features local seafood choices and other daily Chef’s specials. Dine with us for breakfast, lunch or dinner, 7 days a week. Large Parties are welcome with call ahead seating.”

According to my belly, I say, “Thank you!” This day, Brittany (our super-awesome Assistant Property Manager) and I lunched on super-delicious fare. I had the Smoked Tuna Salad sandwich accented with pistachios, served on toasted wheatberry bread with swiss cheese, lettuce & tomato…with homemade fries, which I dipped in Ranch dressing because that’s how we roll here on the OBX. I’m not going to lie- I had no idea what a wheatberry was, but I ate it, and it was good. Britt had one of the daily specials… Caesar Salad with Blackened Flank Steak. I’m not really a roughage lover, but it looked darn scrumptious.

Here’s a menu link: http://bit.ly/LRvbJG for a looky-loo.

Locals and visitors alike know that the Sea Ranch Resort in Kill Devil Hills has had a few ups and downs. After some considerable renovations and a few new concepts, I’m happy to say that this is a great place to kick back and enjoy an ocean view. (Believe it or not, we don’t have an enormous amount of restaurants on the ocean side. Go figure!) Stop by and ask for Torey. She’s a good friend and knows a ton about the Outer Banks. I know she’d be happy to help you.

Oh! I almost forgot! Here’s a link to the webcam they have on the top of the hotel: http://www.searanchresort.com/gallery.  When you look at this view during a big storm, I want you to remember these words, “Do not let Colleen wash away. That would be a tragic event.” Thank you, in advance.

I always want to know what you think, as long as it’s good. Feel free to reach out and share your thoughts, or let me know where you want me to go next. I still have Art’s Place in my radar, I promise!

Remember… Eat Local. Always!
