I Want Credit: Birthday Card Shopping

I'm going to make this short & sweet.

Tomorrow is my MIL's birthday. I have been after my husband to decide on a gift for a few weeks. Do we have anything yet? Nooooo.

I was at the grocery store this afternoon and I get a VM from my husband, asking if I would please pick-up a card for his father to give. I already bought the appropriately sappy card for us, and a card for Aunt Mabel to give. Now I have to get one for her HUSBAND to give? Did her birthday catch him by surprise? Actually, it doesn't matter. Is he sick? No. Was he  just too lazy busy to get in the car and drive to the store to get one for himself?? URGH!

It took a certain level of constraint to keep myself from selecting the most inappropriate birthday card available. There was a part of me that really wanted to do just that… or to walk in and hand him the card and say, “Here’s the birthday card for your wife that you asked me to buy for you, just 10 minutes ago.” I did neither of those horribly nasty things.

I’m going on record – if my husband can’t even care enough to go buy me a card for himself… well, let’s just say that it will be very, very bad. ;-)
