Rainy Days and Mondays Always Get Me Down

It’s so true! In the past 3 weeks I think we have only had 3 sunny days. It’s chilly and dreary and just depressing.

Mom & Dad (HI MA! HI DAD! :-) were here for 10 days with some of their friends. They rented an awesome oceanfront house in Southern Shores, and, BOY, did they get to see the inside of it a lot. What a shame. image

This is the house they stayed in! It was incredible!

Of the 10 days they were here, they spent 3 nights with us. It was so good to see them both!

For this trip, they took a shuttle flight from Norfolk and they landed at the Wright Memorial, which is literally RIGHT behind our house! Here’s how we knew it was time to go pick them up:

Yep! That was them, flying over our house! The flight isn’t cheap, but it saved us 3 hours of driving. NICE!

While they were here they celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary. That’s a pretty cool thing, considering the same week I actually forgot my own wedding anniversary… and it was only our 2nd one. Urgh. The four of us went to Prime Only and had one of the best meals I have ever had. My GOD it was so good. We crawled out of the restaurant, into a cab, and everyone was asleep in 30 minutes. So much for their champagne toast!

By now they are in NJ, back on their own turf. We are still here, in the rain. Mabel and Chip are watching TV, and it’s SO loud I can’t even hear the words. All I can do is hope that my 43rd load of laundry finishes so I have an excuse to go downstairs. Now THAT is sad! LOL

Here’s hoping that next week brings a little sunshine!
