A few weeks ago, Chip and I went to a new restaurant, The Fisherman's Wharf, in lovely Wanchese (pronounced Juan-Cheese).It sits atop a seafood warehouse, so I figured the food had to be delish!
We arrived and were immediately seated, which is a treat during the busy season. The decor was alright, certainly nothing fancy. We learned that the owner of the restaurant is a minister, and 100% of the proceeds are donated to a half-way house for men who are recovering alcoholics. WOW, I dig that.
While looking over the menu, I noticed this:
OK, I know that it's been a while since I've studied the food groups and newfangled food pyramid, but when did Macaroni & Cheese become a vegetable??!?
Most of the food was fried or broiled, and needed some imagination. I had the fried shrimp platter, Chip had a seafood combo, Stacy had a salad, and Eric had a trough of pasta with seafood that looked pretty good.
I'm not sure if we'll go running back there, but the menu did cause a chuckle, so I thought I'd share it with you.
