My Trip to NJ - Cliff's Notes Version

I had a whirl-wind trip to New Jersey this weekend. It was up, it was down, it was inside-out. Here's a high-level overview, as the details are far too numerous to put in writing:

FRIDAY, July 18, 2008

1. Arrived at Norfolk Airport on time for my flight (see previous post for the gory details).
2. Was selected for a bag check at the security gate for packing a HUMONGOUS pair of sewing shears in my luggage - unbeknownst to me. (Thank you, MIL, for leaving them in the bag...NOT!)
3. Departed for Newark only 3 hours and 10 minutes late.

SATURDAY, July 19, 2008

1. Woke-up early to hit Kohl's. Couldn't resist.
2. Went to my brother's house to help with the party arrangements (AKA: keep 3 year old busy).
3. Enjoyed the Naming ceremony for my new niece, Devynn Brooke.  It was lovely, despite the issues with people being late or missing in action.
4. Enjoyed the older niece's 3rd birthday party, despite the fact that she didn't want to kiss or hug me goodbye.
5. Met the the gang at the Monmouth County Fair and watched Susanne eat her weight in fair food. (sorry Sue, had to do it) We had Italian sausage & pepper sammies, cheese steak sammy, some chicken sandwich-thingy, and 2 taco salads. Oh yeah, and fresh squeezed lemonade. And I had some zeppolis.
6. Sue, Carol and I got spray-on tattoos... because we could.
7. 7. Went to The Claddah (bar) to see an 80's cover band (which was not good) and laughed a bunch. Starting at the back is Stephanie, Carol, Rob, me and Susanne. PS -     Sue & Rob are lovers dating.  (I'm gonna pay for that)
8. Then we went to The Clam Hut. Didn't do much there, but Carol felt the need to row her boat ashore.
9. Went to the diner for fries with gravy... yum-o at 2AM.
10. Got home at 3am. Unheard of, if you know me.

SUNDAY, July 20, 2008

1. Got myself together and booked airport shuttle ticket.
2. Went to Ihop with Sue, Carol & Ted.
3. Learned that my flight was canceled due to weather.
4. Rebooked the flight and shuttle.
5. Got a mani & pedi while waiting. We watched a portion of White Chicks until we lost the satellite signal.
6. Learned that my 2nd flight was canceled.
7. Rebooked flight and shuttle for first available Monday afternoon flight. Not happy.
8. Went to dinner with Sue, Carol & Ted. Also yum-o. Had the Corn & Crab Bisque and the Grouper Oreganato.

MONDAY, July 21, 2008

1. Boarded plane only 20 minutes late.
2. Arrived close to on-time.
3. Walked to car to find the battery dead.
4. Spoke to Carol on the cell a few times as she headed to the Meadowlands to meet Sue for the Bruce concert that I couldn't attend because I had to be back at work. Insult to injury.

I couldn't make this stuff up. Anyway, it's good to be home!! NO MORE DRAMA, please.
