This is Just What I Needed

Facebook is a funny thing. I got a message a few weeks ago from an old boyfriend from High School, Scot. Let’s just say, he was a “significant” BF and leave it at that.

He tells me Hello, and blagh blagh blagh, and he is coming to the Outer Banks, and asks if I can recommend a good rental company, which, of course, I can. And, can I recommend a good place to get a drink, and eat, and blagh blagh blagh. Which, of course, I can. And he is checking in on this date and out on that date, and blagh blagh blagh. So, being the good OBX ambassador that I am, I pulled together a great care package for him and his dad and brother, and dropped it at the rental office so he’d have a nice surprise. I asked the rental folks to take really good care of him, and I’m sure they are.

Scot sends me a note via FB, thanking me for all the trash & trinkets, and tells me that he’ll be at this place for drinks @ 6, and says he’d like to get together… if I have time. Please! I have nothing but time!

Now, before you get all crazed, I didn’t go. I mean, we haven’t spoken since 1989, I just didn’t see the point. BUT, Chip and I finished dinner, and he decided to logon to FB to get a look at this “Scot person,” and his family which consists of a wife and 2 or 3 kids. And, after much teasing he says to me, “Man, you should go and show him what he missed out on!”

And THAT will have to last me several months, and that’s why I am writing it down so I won’t forget.
