Tomorrow I head back to Elizabeth city to meet with Dr. Thai, my Neurosurgeon. He’ll examine my scar, which, I must admit, is pretty small. Most people don’t notice it, but I just got my hair cut short and I’ve been avoiding necklaces because I don’t want attention being drawn to the slash in my throat. I thought it was a good distraction. Hopefully he’s happy with the way it is healing.
I also have to show him my x-rays.
Now, correct me if I’m wrong, but doesn’t that look, oh, I don’t know… CROOKED????
I
And, doesn’t this hardware look like, oh, I don’t know, DRY WALL SCREWS????
I’m not going to lie. I am wee-bit freaked out. Did I manage to do something to make the plate slide out of place? Or maybe my neck is so slim that the Dr. couldn’t get his fat hands AND a drill in there to make it straight? Yeah, that’s certainly not it.
On a side note, I held the x-ray up to our backdoor to take these… can you see the decking and grass through my empty head? Yep, not a thing in there.
(((UPDATE))) Everything is AOK! The plate is crooked because my neck is crooked. I guess that makes sense. Dr. Thai was happy, and so was I until my car broke down on the way home. One step forward, one step back.
