Happy 4th of July... on July 7th

Happy belated Independence Day! As usual, we had a full house for the holiday weekend. Eric and his son, Josh, checked-in on Thursday afternoon, followed by late-night check-ins by Jamie, Phil & Wyatt (the dog), and Kim, David and Winston (another dog). If you are keeping count, that's 11 people and 5 dogs in the house at the same time. WHEW!

We spent Friday enjoying the sun. Phil & Robin popped by for a BBQ, and then Mike & Valerie, our across-the-street neighbors, came for some early evening nosh. Clams & green sauce, home made guacamole, chips, veggies, hamburgs & hot dogs, pasta salad, potato salad, cole slaw... all equal "I feel fat." Did we even TOUCH the apple pie, cherry pie, and assorted red, while & blue frosted cupcakes? No, we did not. (+1 to Colleen)

Have I mentioned that I still have a nagging cough?

The fire works were quite good this year. From our 3rd floor, back deck, we can see the displays from Manteo, Nags Head, Kill Devil Hills and Kitty Hawk! It's surely the best seat in town, unless you are Riley and are scared to death from the "BOOM!"

All in all, it was a good weekend! I hope yours was, too!
