I have contracted an awful cold. Name the symptom, and I have it. Runny nose, chest congestion, ringing ears, a 3-day headache, sore throat... not fun. So here I sit, coughing and blowing my nose. The worst part of all of this is that I had to miss our "Date Night." Feel sorry for me people, I am miserable.
Chip has started a new part-time job doing security inspections for a rental company here on the beach. He only works on Saturday, and this is his 3rd week. Basically, he checks-in at the office, gets the keys and checklists for each home, and then checks each house for damages. He starts at 8:30am and works until he'd finished. Nice gig, huh?
The fire in Hyde County is still burning, but today we are smoke-free. I believe that it is now 75% contained. Officials say it will take a major moisture event such as a tropical storm to significantly reduce the smoke and fire. Unbelievable.
This week we learned that Jamie & Phil won't be able to attend the Mabel sponsored cruise in November. Apparently, the cruise line won't allow pregnant women to board if they are going to be within their 3rd trimester, or something like that. There really aren't any words to describe how excited I am for the them... having a baby! WOW! But in the same, selfish breath, DANG! Now we are 2 men down for OPD! (Old People Duty)
Chip's birthday is next Saturday. He'll be 48. I just can't seem to wrap my brain around the fact that I am married to an almost 50 year old man. I don't feel old enough for that. :-) Age is a funny thing, ya know?
Well, I think that's about it for now. Almoney... out!
