For most holidays, we are away from the bulk of our families. (OK, that can be read into in many ways!) My husband’s people (sans Mo, Pop & Mabes) are in MD. My peeps are in the frozen tundra NJ. Not the MTV “Jersey Shore” New Jersey, but Jersey none the less. For holidays, we adopt the Serriani clan. Chip met Phil at the gym when he first moved to the OBX, and they’ve been friends since. Phil has 3 amazing daughters, and the group now includes an assortment of significant others; Monica & Dave are recently married, Natalie and Thomas (who was absent) are engaged to be married next September, and Susanne has a BF we all like very much, Brian. We do T’Day at our house, and Christmas Day at theirs. I just love it.
We began a small gift exchange a few years ago, and Chip makes it a point to be wild & off-the-chart with his expressions of yuletide funnery. This year, he decided to make t-shirts for everyone. Brainstorming took us from one insane idea to the next, until we settled on these… (the embellishment contest was my contribution)
#1 is Natalie’s. His Santa-jersey number is 50, ‘cause he’s almost that old. Ha.
#2 is Suzanne’s. Note the creepy, beady eyes. She is quite the bedazzler!
#3 is Monica’s. Her theme was a Santa mug shot in jail.
#4 is Dave’s. Dave is Jewish, no Santa hat for him :-) He took full liberty to whip up same demon-like biker flames. Well done.
#5a and 5b are Brian’s. He’s new to the Christmas hoopla, so he only got a headshot from the back. He made is own front – Love it!
It’s hard to tell from the photos, but these pictures are almost life-sized. Special kudos to Chipper for taking a risk. This was really, really funny.
