Where Have I Been?

It’s been so long since my last blog and I am so sorry. Things here were fairly quiet for some time, then it got crazy, then I got really busy, then I just wanted to climb in bad and hide. I’m peeking out from the covers, just to say a quick, “Hi.”

“Hi.”

I am still going to the gym. I have learned, twice, that you can’t really play with the buttons on the treadmill while you are walking on the treadmill. When you are 3/4 done with your hour workout and mistakenly reset the machine to zero and wipe out your hard work, why bother finishing, right? No, I finished, but I was mad. I also learned that you shouldn’t have your iPod’s volume too high. If you do, and you mistakenly start to sing, you don’t realize that others can hear you… and when they hear you, they are not amused. I am still befuddled by the woman that read while they are walking or running on the treadmill. C’MON! YOU CAN’T BE READING!

The most recent news was our wicked huge storm. We had no rain, but winds that could knock the breath out of you.

Downtown Manteo spend a good part of the day being submerged in water from the Sound! It’s gone now, but it was exciting.

This the Dairy Queen in Avon… that’s some serious water!!

Here are a few cars driving in Avon… keep in mind, we had clear blue skies! This water is all wind-driven! No, it’s not 30 inches of snow like they have up North, but it’s still a pain!

Speaking of the storm, we all went to dinner last night, and the wind was so ferocious that it almost knocked Aunt Mabel to the ground! Thank goodness I caught her before she hit the pavement! I’m telling you, she could have rolled like a tumble weed!

Of course there’s my seasonal distraction, American Idol, but so far, it’s been lame and I’m disappointed.

I am also gearing up for the OBX Relay For Life, and about to get just a little more busy. “I’m sorry, what? I need to be Team Captain??!” Oh, geesh. Here I go again! I’ll do my best to stay in touch. Until then, see ya!
