My New Crush

cookEveryone, please meet David Cook, my new crush. I love him. No joke.

If you know me, you know that I am right on the edge of needing therapy for my addiction to American Idol. I have watched since Season 1, when I predicted that power-house, Kelly Clarkson, would win it all. She did. I was hooked. I physically freaked out when Jennifer Hudson was eliminated during Season 3, but knew she was destined for greatness. What's that? Can you say, "Dream Girls?" Can you say, "Grammy?" Um hm, that's what I thought.

For the past 3 or 4 seasons I have blogged about AI, ran an inner-circle AI gambling ring, and spent countless hours scouring the Internet trying to get a one-up on what's going to happen next. It's not good. not good at all.

Viewers, you know the rules... (1) no slow, ballads. The down time will kill you. (2) Do not sing anything by Celine Dion or Mariah Carey - it NEVER ends well. Study the HISTORY PEOPLE! (or ask me)

This week's theme???  "Mariah Carey." What were the producers thinking, other than she has a new album coming out and wants the exposure?!? I was seriously considering not watching because of this.

I tried really hard not to get too crazy this season. It started off OK, but now I'm right back in it. I know it's bad because I actually VOTED this week. It's been YEARS since I've felt compelled to vote, but David is something special. Each time I dialed 1-866-IDOLS-06 I felt my heart skip a beat each time I heard, "Thank you for voting for contestant #6..." I was actually worried that he could get the boot.
Anyway, I just downloaded his last song on iTunes, and I am just loving him all over again. Check him out here... and tune in next week. And vote. But if you vote, I suggest not telling anyone 'cause they'll look at you funny.

Almoney... OUT!
